Happy National Cartoonists Day!
This day was chosen because it was the first day in 1895, that a comic was printed in color in the newspapers -- The Yellow Kid (the nightshirt that he wore was printed in yellow)! This is where we get the phrase "yellow journalism.
The Yellow Kid ran in the New York World and then the New York Journal.

Watch an animated movie.
Visit webcomcis.
Write a letter to your favorite cartoonist.
Visit a comic book shop and try something new.
Send someone a cartoon greeting card.
Create a new comic strip or cartoon.
Teach someone to draw.
Read up on comics history.
Introduce a child to cartooning.
Take a cartoonist to lunch.
