He set record for longest comic strip

I was watching the Today Show Friday morning, and Lincoln Peirce, the cartoonist who does the Big Nate comic strip was there setting a Guinness World Record by having the longest comic strip. It was 3,920 feet, beating the previous record of 3,320 feet, 2 inches. You can see it here, it began at the front of 30 Rock, right where the big Christmas tree sits every year and then winded around the ice skating rink, up and down the rink and then up and straight to the Today Show studios.

Lincoln had school children draw all the panels which were recreations from Big Nate books.

Harper Collins, the publisher of Big Nate books will be donating $10,000 worth of books to First Book, a non-profit group.

I love the fact that it brings awareness to comic strips, especially for younger kids and it was quite a coup for Lincoln in getting Big Nate in front of millions of people. I'll be in New York starting Saturday, I regret I did not get to see this or meet Lincoln Peirce in person.
